Cherry Fruit Fly

Description

Eggs are a 1mm white-ish oval. Larva can be up to 7mm. They are legless with a white or yellow coloring. Pupa are a brown color about 4mm in length. Adults are black flies with a yellow head and legs. They are about 4.5mm in length. Their abdomen has white bands running transversely across it.

Damage

Adults wound fruit in an effort to feed. Also, eggs are laid inside green fruit, completely damaging the fruit.
