Cydia pomonella

Description

The adult moth is grey, 1/4" to 1/2" long with numerous small, wavy lines crossing the wings. These little bullet-shaped moths are night flyers and seldom seen. Larvae are white or pinkish 1/2" to 1" long with a brown head.

Damage

Larval damage detsroys fruit; losses may exceed 70% of potential yield. This insect has two or three generations each year, resulting in potentially disasterous outbreaks.
